For Laser Hair Removal treatments we use Diode and Nd:YAG Laser Applicators with the XLaser Plus platform by Biotec Italia. The system's modular applicators are designed to offer effective and reliable results with minimal patient discomfort and downtime. Xlase Plus Diode handpiece provides permanent hair reduction using cutting-edge high-power diode technology. It guarantees a rapid, non-invasive procedure, with no downtime, able to treat all skin types (I-VI), as well as tanned skin and pseudofolliculitis barbae. It utilizes a 1cm2 sapphire tip that actively cools before, during and after treatment. System is medically certified and hair removal has been clinically proven to be safe and effective through years of clinical trials and studies.

How does Laser Hair Removal work?

Diode Applicator

The Diode technology is a highly efficient laser source, ensuring constant and effective performance. The XlasePlus Diode features a large spot size using a water cooling sapphire tip and the most uniform beam profile available today, to provide quick treatment of unwanted hair, even in large areas.
The Sapphire tip with contact cooling helps to protect the epidermis and to keep the skin cool throughout treatment, while the uniform beam profile allows the most effective coagulation of hair follicles, reducing the need for multiple, overlapping passes.

Nd:YAG Applicator

The Nd:YAG applicator emits light with a wavelength of 1064nm; the light penetration into tissue reaches its maximum depth while its low absorption guarantees preservation of the surrounding tissues on all skin types. It combines a long and short pulse in a compact and technologically advanced delivered from the hand piece into the skin, where it releases only the wavelengths absorbed by the target. The pulse intensity and duration are tightly controlled to ensure a selective target heating, while leaving the surrounding tissue unharmed.

The Nd:YAG applicator offers a longer, near infrared wavelength where light penetration into tissues reaches its maximum depth, making it the ideal choice for hair removal and rejuvenation and it is suitable for use on all skin types, including tanned skin.
The Nd:YAG applicator grants exceptionally fast treatments with high efficacy and comfort and allows independent control of fluency, pulse duration and repetition rates to tailor treatment parameters. The laser beam penetrates deeper into the skin to selectively target the deepest skin structures and the thermal energy of the laser heats the pigment, ensuring the long-term efficacy of the treatment.

Before your Laser appointment:

Do not shave area to be treated before your appointment, shave one day before.
Do not wax, thread, bleach, pluck, tweeze or use depilatory creams or electrolysis in the areas you wish to treat for 4 weeks prior to your treatment.
Avoid any unnecessary UV exposure to the areas to be treated for 1 weeks prior to treatment.
Avoid self-tanning products for 1 weeks prior to treatment.

To ensure that as many hair follicles are targeted as possible it is important not to undergo any hair removal for at least 4 weeks before the appointment and during the course of treatment. If you need to remove any hair that appears you can shave but must NOT remove the hair from the follicle.

After your Laser Hair Removal:

Some redness in the treated area may occur after your treatment. Apply cold soothing gel or infladerm. The redness will subside in a few hours.
Avoid applying exfoliants (glycolics, retinoids, etc.) to the treated area for 7 days.
A sunscreen must be used after the treatment.
People with very sensitive skin may benefit from using a soothing Aloe Vera gel.
Keep area clean and wash gently. Do not use very hot water. Do not use sauna.
No Gym for 24 hrs
Do not use deodorant or antiperspirant for 12 hours after underarm hair removal.

Laser Hair Removal Contraindications:

You should not receive this service if: You are pregnant or breastfeeding, You have a history of herpes simplex virus in the area to be treated, You have tattoos in the area to be treated, You have taken Accutane in the last 6 months, If you taking the medication which can make your skin sensitive.

What precautions are needed when being treated with Laser?

Eye protection glasses will be provided for both the technician and the client to wear when receiving and performing treatment.

How does the Diode Laser System work?

The system emits near-infrared laser light that is absorbed by the melanin located in the hair follicle. The laser is pulsed, or turned on, for only a fraction of a second. The duration of each pulse is long enough to damage the follicle, without damaging the surrounding tissue, thanks also to the unique, patented contact-cooling handpiece, that protect the skin by conductive cooling during the laser energy delivery

How does Diode Laser Hair Removal compare with other hair removal methods?

Shaving, waxing, and depilatory creams are all temporary methods that must be repeated on a frequent basis and none of those methods can successfully reduce ingrown. Diode Laser Hair Removal offers permanent hair reduction and treatment of ingrown hairs.

Does the diode laser work on tanned or dark skin?

The Diode Laser system safely and effectively treats all skin types (Fitzpatrick Skin Types I-VI) as well as tanned skin. For darker skin types and people with tans, appropriate parameters are set: generally lower fluencies and lower pulse widths are set to prevent epidermis damage. Using the appropriate treatment parameters, however, people with all skin types can benefit from Diode Laser hair removal.

Are the Results Permanent?

The Diode Laser is proven to work on hair removal and permanent hair reduction on all skin types and tanned skin. To achieve long lasting or permanent hair reduction, it is necessary to destroy the hair follicle from which individual hairs grow. Well controlled pulses of light penetrate the upper skin layer and are absorbed by one of the body's own natural chemicals - melanin - in the hair contained in the follicle. To achieve a satisfactory level of clearance 6 treatments are typically required.
